Mangalam Sindoor: Sindoor is a traditional vermilion red or orange-red coloured powder in India, usually worn by married women along the parting of their hair. Application of Sindoor is essentially a Hindu tradition. It is also used in worshiping the lord.

Mangalam Hawan samagri: It comprises all the components which are being used in a Hawan. A Hawan is a ritual where people offer their devotion to the lord by lighting a small quadrant platform and offering their faith to the lord by throwing various things known as “Hawan Samagri” in the light, the fire here signifies the lord himself. “Hawan Samagri” has a positive effect on our body as its aroma cleanse our body and sends us to a serene state devoid of any tensions related to materialistic nature.

Mangalam Sandalwood powder (Chandan): Sandalwood is a class of woods from trees in the genus Santalum. The woods are heavy, yellow, and fine-grained, and unlike many other aromatic woods, they retain their fragrance for decades. In Hinduism Sandalwood paste is integral to rituals and ceremonies, to mark religious utensils, and to decorate the icons of the deities. Preparation of the paste is a duty fit only for the pure, so is entrusted in temples and during ceremonies only to priests. Amchoor, also referred to as mango powder, is a fruity spice powder made from dried unripe green mangoes and is used as a citrusy seasoning. It is produced in India, and is used to flavor foods and add the nutritional benefits of mangoes when the fresh fruit is out of season. Amchoor powder is a very sour and tangy spice made from green mangos that have been dried and powdered. It is used to add sourness to recipes.

The Amchoor has various uses as it has a honey-like fragrance and a sour fruity flavor and is a tart pale-beige-to-brownish powder used in dishes where acidity is required. Meet Hing: A Pinch Of Spice

We know this spice by the name of Hing , Asafoetida is the powdered and dried resin extracted from the roots of Ferula, a native herb of Iran and Afghanistan but mainly cultivated in India, it’s also known as food of the gods.

Hing emerged as a substitute for the now-extinct precious spice ‘Silphium’ during the invasion of Asia by Alexander the Great. Its medicinal use dates back to 700 B.C. In the “Mahabharata”, there are descriptions of meat being dressed in ghee, and garnished with Hing.

In concern to appearance hing in raw form is sold as blocks or pieces of brown resin. Though in raw form it smells unappetizing, but transforms when heated to give off a rich savory flavor much like sautéed onions and garlic.

  • Alternatively, you can also add 2 – 3 small pieces of Hing to buttermilk and drink it.
  • Dissolve a spoonful of Hing in a cup of hot water. Now, steep a cloth in the solution and use it for fomentation.
